People often unintentionally say the rudest things. I don’t think I’m THAT sensitive. If you heard the things I’ve heard recently, you’d be offended too! 

1. “Megan Good is the only attractive black girl” (plays it off)

2. “I would never date a (clicks tongue to represent an “African” language).”

3. “Sometimes I hate the both of you. I have four AP classes and I have all these smart people things to deal with and you don’t.”

4. “You need to stop overachieving.” (FROM A TEACHER! …I thought teachers WANTED us to go above and beyond. Were all these years in school a lie?) 

From now on, I will try my hardest to watch what I say. Words HURT like hell. These words were no exceptions. I’ve never felt this way….like being Black was this disgusting curse. I’ve never felt so racially inferior. I knew people thought like this, but to have my own friends JOKE about it? That’s insane. I am a huge Oreo lol, but I still have so much pride in my roots. I can take a joke, but I can’t take words as strong as the above. And I’ve never felt so mentally inferior. A grade and a class placement should not define our intellectual stances. People say the darnedest things. I’m not saying that I now dislike the people who’ve said what they’ve said. I’m just saying that we all need to start thinking about our choice of words and our actions. Our intentions do not always match another’s perceptions. You may say something that can potentially ruin a person’s whole day. And today….I just feel pretty dumb, pretty “dark” and pretty disrespected.

7.       Let your favorite hair stylists, makeup & nail artists, designers, clothing stylists and photographers know about me. Tell them that I’d really appreciate any assistance they can volunteer. They themselves are very beneficial in pageantry and may have lots of clients that are beneficial as well. Make sure to message me if you’d like my contact information. I’d gladly give it you! :)

Not that I’m the queen of braids or anything, but I get so annoyed when girls I know get the same hairstyle as me or ask me about it. Do your own thing. Don’t follow me or follow any girl at that. Establish your own. In turn, you will be synonymous with something great of your choosing ;)

She’s not getting shit for Mother’s Day. Not every parent deserves to be a parent. Not every parent should be praised. When you go into mother or fatherhood, go into with good intentions, not complaining every 5 seconds for what you do for your kids. It is lawful for you to provide for your kids. It is spiritual and moral to care for them. To hell with every holiday for parents. He’s dead and you’re emotionally dead. You don’t give a shit about anything but your own problems. I hate everything.
